Talk about terrible timing.
San Fransisco 49ers defensive end Charles Omenihu has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence; the arrest took place on Monday afternoon in San Jose. A woman, who said Omenihu is her boyfriend, told police that he pushed her to the ground during an argument.
He was arrested and booked at the Santa Clara County Jail and then released after posting bail; he was also served with a restraining order.
The 49ers released the following statement.
"We are aware of the matter involving Charles Omenihu and are in the process of gathering further information," the 49ers said in a statement.
The 49ers are fresh off their postseason divisional victory over the rival Dallas Cowboys and are now in preparations to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Conference championship game on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.
