Aaron Rodgers hints when he'll retire!

Is the end of the line coming?

The Football Feed

The future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed bleak with the Green Bay Packers at this time last year, but since the two sides have mended fences, and Rodgers has even re-upped with a massive contract extension.

But how much more does Rodgers have in the tank? While the reigning NFL MVP he's demonstrated he can still play a high level as he gets into his late 30's, he doesn't plan on going the Tom Brady route of playing at least into his mid-40's.

''I'll be doing something else. I have a lot of other interests outside the game,'' Rodgers said ahead of this afternoon's matchup against Brady and the Buccaneers.

''Game's been really really good to me. I feel I've given my all to the game,'' the 38-year-old Rodgers added. ''At some point, it'll be time to do something else, and I strongly believe that'll be before 45.''

Rodgers, who has thrown for 429 yards with two touchdowns and one interception so far in the two games he's played this year, knows that it's all about consistency as he approaches the twilight of his career.

''The consistency where you're still playing at a high level and there's not the drop-off. Every great player fears turning into a real below-average player on the way out. I don't think anybody wants to really hang on,'' Rodgers continued.

''Maybe some guys just want to get another year, or they're maybe on a team where they can do a lot less,'' Rodgers added. ''But when you've achieved at a high level for a long time, you try and stay there for as long as you can.''

The Packers and Bucs kickoff this afternoon starting at 4:25 PM EST from Raymond James Stadium.
