Aaron Rodgers officially to return for the Green Bay Packers

He's back!

He missed last week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs thanks to testing positive for COVID-19, and faced a whirlwind of media scrutiny for his controversial comments on "The Pat McAfee Show". But now, he's back and ready to return to action.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be under center for his team tomorrow when they take on the Seattle Seahawks, as they've activated him off their COVID-19 list.

According to head coach Matt LaFleur, Rodgers participated in all team meetings this week virtually.

"It's been going great," LaFleur said this week of the preparation for Sunday. "Communication's been there. He's been in every meeting. He's been engaged. So, it's just he's not with his guys out on the field. That's the dynamic that you never know. But we're fortunate to have a guy that has got a ton of reps under his belt, has played a ton of ball, so we're pretty confident that, provided he checks out well, he can go out there and play at a high level."

For Rodgers, who was not allowed back into the team facility until Saturday, he stuck to working out on his own during his absence from his teammates.

"I just do believe there's a health hurdle that I have to [clear] as far as like movement and sweating and getting into it, making sure my body, especially heart, is fine with physical exertion," Rodgers said.

Without Rodgers, the Packers dropped only their second game of the season against the Chiefs. Backup quarterback Jordan Love made his first career NFL start. According to LaFleur, Love was preparing for this week "just in case":

"Yeah, but you know, a lot of things [can] happen," LaFleur said. "So just like we told Jordan, 'You've got to be ready to go.' And if that's the route we go, then he'll be ready."

Tomorrow's game against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks will kick off at 4:25 PM EST.
