The Arizona Cardinals have made the decision to place running backs coach James Saxon on leave given the fact that he is awaiting a court date after being charged on domestic battery charges in Indianapolis this past May.
According to Marion Country court records, the charges against Saxon involved a Level 6 felony after he assaulted woman in front of a child younger than 16 years old and domestic battery.
"We are aware of the incident and notified the NFL as required," the Cardinals said in a statement on Friday. "The matter is currently under review pursuant to league policies. ... We will have no further comment pending additional proceedings."
He's been a member of the Cardinals coaching staff since 2019.
