Ben Roethlisberger says 49ers wanted him!
This would have been an interesting look.

It was a long and very fruitful NFL career for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who has spent the last 18 years wearing the black and yellow while leading his team to two Super Bowl wins. He's also the franchise leader in wins with 165, home wins with 92, and passing touchdowns with 418.
He called it a career earlier last year after 18 NFL seasons, all spent with the Steelers. But could he have suited up for a different franchise on the opposite end of the country? According to the man himself, there was one particular team in the Bay Area looking to make that happen.
The San Francisco 49ers, who dealt with all kinds of injury woes at the quarterback position this season, reached out to Big Ben about the chances of him heading out west.
“They were, I think, reaching out maybe just to gauge my interest,” Roethlisberger said. “I had discussions. … I’d be lying if I didn’t say there was a small part of me that was intrigued. I could still do it and prove to people that I could still play. At the end of the day, I just can’t see myself in anything other than black and gold.”
However, Roethlisberger remains content in retirement.
“I love waking up in the morning and not having issues with my knees and shoulders and elbows,” he said.
How strange would it have looked to see the Steelers legend wearing another franchise's colors?
