It's already been a period of transition for the Dallas Cowboys, who have seen several assistant coaches depart the organization after their disappointing postseason loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Among those who are no longer with the team include offensive line coach Joe Philbin, running backs coach Skip Peete and senior defensive assistant George Edwards. Additionally, assistant head coach Rob Davis, quality control/analytics coach Kyle Valero and assistant defensive line coach Leon Lett will not be back.
The good news for the Cowboys is that defensive coordinator Dan Quinn will be returning, despite having openly flirted with numerous other teams during the postseason. However, they'll officially be needing a new offensive coordinator.
Minutes ago, the news broke that offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is officially leaving the team, though the parting was apparently mutual. He had been in his position since 2019.
According to David Moore of The Dallas Morning News, it will be head coach Mike McCarthy who will be calling offensive plays next season. Meanwhile, Moore reportedly is already drawing interest from the likes of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who just parted ways with offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.
Cowboys fans, just how exactly will it work out with McCarthy calling offensive plays next season?
