The Cameron Sutton era is over in the Steel City, as the popular cornerback has departed the Pittsburgh Steelers and agreed to a three year contract with the Detroit Lions.
Sutton, who was drafted in the third round (94th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, had three interceptions with 43 tackles last year playing with the Steelers.
Sutton was rumored to be on the move, with Detroit showing interest after missing out on acquiring Jalen Ramsey.
“The Pittsburgh corner just finished a two-year, $9 million deal but will be in a much higher tier this time,” ESPN recently explained. “His name is circulating right now at the cornerback spot. Could see some NFC North action here — the Vikings or Lions make sense. Raiders, too.”
