The Dallas Cowboys will be putting their 2-1 record in the young 2022 NFL season to the test this weekend when they host the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium, and while they'll continue to be shorthanded with several key figures out of the lineup, they could be getting a major boost.
Wide receiver Michael Gallup, who has been rehabbing a torn ACL, is on track to make his season debut against Washington.
"MG’s back," he said this week during practice. "That’s exactly what I said. MG’s back.”
Gallup decided to hold himself out of Monday night's victory against the Giants, calling it his decision.
“This is the hardest part. It’s really just mental now,” Gallup said. “You know you’re healthy, and everything’s good; it’s just mental now. You’ve got to make sure you feel like your old self. Getting to that is the hardest part.”
Gallup has spent the first four years of his NFL career with Dallas after they selected him in the 3rd round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Upon his arrival in Dallas, he signed a four year contract worth $3,523,980 that also included a handsome $889,980 signing bonus. This offseason, he was extended by Dallas to the tune of a five year contract worth $62.5 million.
