Cowboys Insider provides grim update on star CB Trevon Diggs

Well, not what we wanted to hear.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs has been nothing short of spectacular for his team this season.

He's already cemented his place in the franchise record books with five interceptions in only four games, the only player in team history to accomplish the feat. His six total picks lead the NFL, and he's upped his total to nine in his past 10 games played.

However, the team may be without his services when they head to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

According to Cowboys Insider Clarence Hill Jr., Diggs could be a game-time decision thanks to the fact that he's dealing with an ankle injury:

The news was confirmed by head coach Mike McCarthy, who explained that Britt Brown, the team's director of rehabilitation, is continuing to work with Diggs in hopes that he'll be able to take the field Sunday. Despite the potential setback, the 24 year old Diggs is staying positive.

“I feel good. I’m still taking it day by day, just going to see how I feel,” Diggs said Thursday, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. “Yeah I mean you’re going to get little nicks and bruises. It’s nothing for real. It is what is.”

As one of the main factors behind the Cowboys' 4-1 start to the 2021 season, we're all collectively holding our breath in hopes that we'll be able to see him suit up against the Patriots.
