Michael Irvin had a Hall of Fame career with the Cowboys between 1988 and 1999, but the 51-year-old is ready to embark on another professional athletic career. Not one to tone it down after his NFL retirement, Irvin is looking to make his pro MMA debut. Seriously.

According to an interview with TMZ, Irvin has been training and looking for promoters to get him into a real fight, despite his wife's objections.

Former teammate Herschel Walker has walked this career path before Irvin. Walker has two professional MMA fights, so maybe the two could battle it out for the title of being best former Cowboy turned MMA fighter.

Irvin had 750 career receptions for 11,904 receiving yards and 65 touchdowns. He won Super Bowls with the Cowboys at Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX, as well as being a five-time Pro Bowl player and has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The real question is which prospect is more frightening for Irvin: facing down someone in the cage, or having to suffer the wrath of his wife afterward?
