Cowboys owner Jerry Jones sounds off on Broncos fans at AT&T Stadium

You can't say that Jones isn't hilarious.

There really wasn't much that went right for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon at in the friendly confines of AT&T Stadium against the Denver Broncos

The visiting Broncos ended the Cowboys' six-game winning streak, earning a 30-16 victory and improving to 5-4 in 2021. Meanwhile, the Cowboys dropped to 6-2. Their defense didn't give the No. 1 offense in the NFL much to work with, while Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater threw for a touchdown and had a sneak for another.

They'd eventually enjoy a 30-0 lead before Dallas was able to get on the scoreboard; the victory was seventh straight in the series dating back to 1995.

Team owner and general manager Jerry Jones would go on to describe the loss as "inexplicable" in his post-game remarks, and has since then followed that up with an absolute doozy, stating that the Broncos didn't do anything that they weren't anticipating.

“We anticipated it. I went over it carefully with Mike (McCarthy) before the game," Jones said earlier today. "What they came out doing we anticipated completely. We just didn’t anticipate them having that kind of success, and they stayed in it.”

He would follow that up by addressing the large number of Broncos fans that invaded the Cowboys home turf - and it doesn't sound like he had any issue with it.

“Actually, I like the way the ticket situation is in the NFL today,” Jones said. "You have a tremendous secondary market. And that is not under the control of any team or any league. And it’s healthy and it’s good. Frankly, we’re a good game for fans to come to. We’re in the central part of the country, we’re lucky enough to have such a great venue. And of course, we’re playing well this year. With all of that in mind, that’s right where I want to be.”

“Now let’s just be candid,” Jones continued. “We didn’t have a lot to cheer about out there Sunday. And you could have had two of them there and they would have been noticeable with the Denver Broncos. They would have been going crazy. But of course, there were a lot more (Broncos fans) there. But that was about as hard to have something to cheer about out there Sunday as you could have. Given some success, even though you had a lot of Denver fans there, we would have drowned them out going and coming.”

The Cowboys are now turning their attention to their Week 10 matchup at home against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.
