It was a season to remember for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who completed 68.8% of his passes for 37 touchdowns to 10 interceptions while earning 11 wins in his 16 starts. Of course, this means that he also now holds the franchise record for most touchdown throws in a season, breaking the mark previously held by Tony Romo.  He also threw 410 passes for 4,449 yards - strong numbers by any comparison.

The Cowboys are also expecting a similar performance from their $40 million a season quarterback, a price tag that Prescott himself knows carries certain responsibilities.

“I don’t know if somebody sat down and asked me to do more necessarily but I know what’s expected,” Prescott said. “I know being the quarterback of this team, I know being a quarterback of whatever team you are, what’s expected in your role and responsibility.”

Prescott declined appearing in the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas after coming back this season from two surgeries on the compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle, and having been a limited offseason workout participant.

Head coach Mike McCarthy described Prescott's dedication to his craft and his preparedness, and needless to say, he likes it.

“[Prescott] sets the tempo and pace of operation, command. All those little things he’s excellent in that. It’s important to compete and perform at a high level. He’s definitely in that realm,” McCarthy said. “But it’s the post-snap conversations and little things. I think that’s all part of the maturation of your offense, the quarterback with the perimeter players, particularly the younger players, I think he does a really good job of that.”
