Cowboys-Raiders Thanksgiving game draws MASSIVE ratings

America's team?

Michael W.

The Dallas Cowboys are known by the moniker of "America's Team", and the ratings for yesterday's annual Thanksgiving Day game certainly support that.

According to the numbers that came out today, the Cowboys and Raiders drew an estimated 38.531 million viewers, which qualified it for the most watched regular season game on any network since 1990. The last time such numbers came in, it was a matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants in 1990 that drew 41.474 million viewers.

And it turned out to be a true prediction for team owner and general manager Jerry Jones:

"This will probably be the most watched game other than the Super Bowl," he said yesterday prior to kick-off.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they suffered their third loss in their past four with a 36-33 setback in overtime.
