The Dallas Cowboys lost cornerback Stephen Gilmore during yesterday's game against the visiting Washington Commanders during the first half, and did not return.

The good news, according to head coach Mike McCarthy, is that he didn't suffer a serious injury and is on track to be able to play in their upcoming postseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

“Stephon Gilmore escaped more serious injury without damage to his rotator cuff. The belief is he will be available Sunday and wear a harness for extra support for his right shoulder,” ESPN’s Todd Archer wrote on X on January 8.

'It was better than we anticipated,’ Mike McCarthy said.

And as Gilmore himself said, his rotator cuff simply popped out.

"It popped out, and they popped it back in place," Gilmore said.

Said Gilmore: “It feels great now. I’m excited for next week."
