Pretty explosive allegation.

There was no shortage of criticism for Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada this year, who is headed for an early offseason along with the rest of the team after they were officially eliminated from postseason contention during today's regular season finale.

And while the immediate speculation on whether or not Canada will be back on head coach Mike Tomlin's staff next season, a rather explosive accusation has come forth from Jeff Hathhorn, the Steelers insider for 93.7 The Fan. Essentially, Hathhorn said that Tomlin wanted the offense to be more "vanilla".

“I think that’s fair to bring up. It’s Mike Tomlin that wanted this offense to be that vanilla,” Hathhorn replies. “Just not turn it over, that’s his game plan. Be conservative and let the defense win the game. That’s not Canada’s game plan, it’s the game plan he was told to create. Ultimately, it’s on Tomlin. They just didn’t want to take chances.”

Yikes. Talk about a serious accusation. Does this compel you to perhaps re-evaluate your thoughts on Canada if in fact his hands were being tied by Tomlin?
