Jeff Saturday issues bold (and puzzling) declaration regarding Aaron Rodgers

That's an interesting take.

The Green Bay Packers are rolling right now, to say the least.

Firmly in first place in the NFC North with a sparking 8-2 record, they're coming off a shutout victory over the Seattle Seahawks yesterday afternoon

Oh, and they've allowed an NFL-low 34 points in their last three games, despite dropping one of them to the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, that was the game that quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed thanks to his having been placed on the COVID-19 protocol list.

Rodgers returned to action against Seattle, finishing 23 of 37 for 292 yards. He may not have found the end zone, but did enough to allow the defense to lead the way. And according to former NFL player and current "Get Up" analyst Jeff Saturday, it's a specific game plan for Rodgers and the Packers.

"They are the best team in the NFL right now. Six of ten games, they've held opponents to 20 or less points," he said. "Aaron Rodgers will win most games that way. And here's the thing about Aaron Rodgers - just because you can, doesn't mean you should. That defines him. He could go out and light up scoreboards, but chooses not to because he won't put his team in a position to lose games. He's not going to turn it over, he'll be very careful with the ball and make good decisions. He'll give you the best opportunity to win."

“This is a very good football team and they’re sound at every level of the roster,” he concluded.

The Packers will travel to the Twin Cities for an NFC North rivalry matchup against the Minnesota Vikings next week.
