Jim Harbaugh to interview with Broncos
Could the Michigan head coach be headed to the Rockies?
The Football Feed
The Denver Broncos made the call to terminate head coach Nathaniel Hackett just before the start of the new year after he amassed a 4-11 record in his first year on the job; he didn't even last a full NFL season.
And while reports have indicate that the Broncos have obtained permission to interview former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean McVay for their vacant position, could they have their eyes set on one of the highest profile college football head coaches?
According to multiple reports, the Broncos will also be interviewing current University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh for their coaching job.
Per NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero:
"The #Broncos plan to interview Jim Harbaugh for their head coaching job early this week, per sources.
Denver's new owners want to swing big, and landing Harbaugh – the former #49ers and current University of Michigan coach – would be about as big as it gets."
The enigmatic Harbaugh already flirted with a return to the NFL last offseason when he showed interest in the Minnesota Vikings. He's already enjoyed success at the NFL level, having led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl before returning to his alma matter in Ann Arbor in 2015.
