While the Dallas Cowboys are gathered for rookie minicamp practice, one particular figure who hasn't been present is head coach Mike McCarthy. According to the Cowboys, their head coach recently underwent a back procedure. It was first reported by Ed Werder of ESPN, who wrote:

"Head coach Mike McCarthy is not present at the #Cowboys rookie minicamp because he's recovering (from) a surgical procedure performed on his back earlier in the week."

The news would later be confirmed by the team. Per the official press release from the Cowboys:

"Cowboys officials announced before practice that McCarthy underwent a back procedure earlier in the week. He has been part of some meetings at The Star but won't be involved in on-field activities. His availability for the OTA practices in two weeks is unclear."

We certainly wish McCarthy the best of luck for a speedy recovery.
