New York Jets stun the world with quarterback announcement!

We didn't see this coming!

The New York Jets made the decision last month to re-acquire quarterback Joe Flacco from the Philadelphia Eagles, sending a conditional 6th round pick back to Philly in return.

And now, he'll be getting his first start of the season. In a surprising move, the Jets have announced that it will be Flacco under center for them this Sunday when they take on the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

The decision comes on the heels of Mike White tossing four interceptions in last week's 45-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills, while Zach Wilson has yet to come off the shelf from a PCL injury.

The 36 year old Flacco threw for 864 yards last season with six touchdowns and three interceptions for the Jets; he suited up in five games for them in 2020 before signing with the Eagles this offseason. He appeared in exhibition play for the Eagles, but hasn't seen action in the regular season so far in 2021.

Flacco is a former Super Bowl Most Valuable Player with the Ravens; he's currently in his 14th professional season.
