REPORT: Colin Kaepernick has reached out to Seattle Seahawks

He's still hoping to play in the NFL.

Former NFL quarterback-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick apparently still hasn't given up hope on a return to professional football.

Kaepernick became synonymous with social justice reform when, as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, knelt during the national anthem in 2016 to protest police brutality and social inequality. Kaepernick has not seen NFL action since January of 2017 with 49ers. He opted out of his contract in March 2017 and has has been a free-agent ever since.

Of course, it wasn't too long ago that he participated a much-hyped workout in an attempt to make a return to the pro stage. And despite several teams reportedly showing interest, none took a waiver on him. He also missed out on a chance to join the XLF, as they balked at his reported salary demands.

This week, he specifically reached out to the Seattle Seahawks and head coach Pete Carroll about trying out for the team.

And while Carroll sounded open to a Kaepernick return to the NFL, he's just not sure that it will be with Seattle, even after quarterback Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos.

Will Kaepernick ever play in the NFL again? Only time will tell.
