The worst is confirmed for Cowboys' C.J. Goodwin

Awful.

Losing badly on the scoreboard wasn't the only loss that the Dallas Cowboys suffered at the hands of the rival San Francisco 49ers last night at Levi Stadium.

Returner/wide receiver KaVontae Turpin suffered a high ankle sprain, while cornerback C.J. Goodwin was injured and left the game; his injury was later revealed to be a torn pectoral muscle, and he's finished for the rest of the 2023 season.

It's a disappointing setback for the Cowboys, and the coaching staff feels badly for Goodwin.

Special teams coordinator John Fassel was particularly upset:

“I can’t describe what kind of loss that is....gosh, we’ll miss him on Sunday. He’s very special. Very special.”

The Cowboys are now beginning their preparations to face the Los Angeles Chargers on the road next week followed by a home matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at AT&T Stadium.
