Will Aaron Rodgers finish his Hall of Fame NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, the only team that he's ever suited up for? Immediately following their season ending loss to the Detroit Lions, speculation immediately began running rampant on whether or not Rodgers would remain.
And according to a recently released report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, it appears as though the Packers would prefer to move on from Rodgers.
"They drafted my replacement, and if I didn't win two COVID MVPs, this conversation probably would've happened earlier," Rodgers said during the interview Tuesday with The Pat McAfee Show. "But in a year where I'm not going to win MVP, it allows for all the different conjectures of if Jordan is ready and if it's time to move on."
During the interview, Rodgers also stated that he's "open to all honest and direct conversations" with the Packers and that a potential trade "wouldn't offend me, and it wouldn't make me feel like a victim."
Rodgers also may not be the only player on his way out the door. Among Green Bay's pending free agent players include the likes of Randall Cobb, Marcedes Lewis, Robert Tonyan, Allen Lazard and Mason Crosby.
Meanwhile, it has been openly speculated that the New York Jets could be a potential landing destination for Rodgers given their recent hiring of Nathaniel Hackett, with whom Rodgers won back to back NFL MVP awards with him as Packers offensive coordinator.
Is there any scenario in which you see Rodgers returning to Green Bay for a 19th season in the NFL? Or will the two sides ultimately move on from one another, which would certainly shift the balance of power in the NFC North division?
