Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will be absent for the next several weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a hand injury he suffered during his team's Week 1 loss; in his stead, backup Cooper Rush is now the de facto starter and has already helped the team improve to a 1-1 record with a walk-off win against the Cincinnati Bengals this past weekend.

As of right now, Rush will remain the Dallas starter until Prescott's return. But could Rush potentially perform well enough to force head coach Mike McCarthy to potentially reconsider automatically slotting Prescott back under center upon his return? According to team owner and general manager Jerry Jones, he "wouldn't mind" a quarterback controversy on his team.

"Of course I would," Jones said when asked if he'd want a controversy. "If he comes in here and plays as well as Prescott played over these next games ahead, I'd walk to New York to get that."
