There may not be a more vilified coach in the NFL right now than Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada, who continues to face intense crucify and criticism in the face of continuing struggles on the offensive side of the ball. And as you know, there are plenty of calls for the Steelers to move on from Canada.

However, one particular CBS Insider has taken things to a crazy new level by implying that Steelers fans are trying to hurt Canada's family by calling for his termination.

According to sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala during an appearance on The PM Team w/Poni & Mueller on Wednesday., Steelers fans who want to see Canada lose his role as offensive coordinator are targeting his family for ridicule.

“I was watching the Pens last night and listening to that ['Fire Canada' chant],” Kinkhabwala said. “At this point, the decision has been made. Mike Tomlin has said he is not changing his coordinator. He is perfectly happy with this coordinator and what he is doing at this moment, so what’s the point? Now, when you’re chanting that, all you are doing is trying to hurt his family.”

“You’re not convincing Mike Tomlin of anything,” Kinkhabwala continues. “Mike Tomlin’s not changing his mind at this point.”

Of course, that's a ridiculous assertion. Wanting a professional sports coach to lose his job after a large sample size of poor results isn't anything personal, and Canada has been compensated very well for his services without having come through as expected in his role.

“I know, but fans are still going to be fans, and they are clearly frustrated and fed up,” Mueller responded. “They’re still going to chant it. His family has already been hurt plenty if they are the types that are hurt by this sort of thing by just the sheer amount of venom that’s been lobbed at him for over a year now.”

What do you make of Kinkhabwala's comments?
