Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has words for Ezekiel Elliott

Do you agree with Jerry on this one?

Since being selected with the No. 4 pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has been one of the most important points of the team offense.

He's under contract through 2026, and will be the highest paid player in the NFL at the position next season with a salary cap hit of $18.2 million. He finished the 2021 season rushing for 1,002 yards and 10 touchdowns on 237 carries, all while playing through a partially torn posterior cruciate ligament.

And according to team owner and GM Jerry Jones, Elliotte needs to be the focal point of their offensive attack.

"Zeke’s gotta be our feature, and he is our feature,” the Cowboys owner said, via the NFL Network. “We can feature him in a lot of different ways … It's critical that we make Zeke, because he's capable of being that, really the focus of what we're doing.”

However, fans may be a bit critical of Jones' comments, considering that Elliott racked up career lows of 58.9 rushing yards and 13.9 rushing attempts per game last season.

On the other hand, Tony Pollard, who 719 rushing yards and 337 receiving yards last season, garnered praise from Jones.

“Now then, Pollard, there's plenty of room for Pollard,” Jones said. “There's plenty of room for Pollard when Zeke's in there. Pollard needs to get the ball."
