It was a completing dominating performance by the host Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium yesterday afternoon, as they pummeled the visiting New York Giants en route to their 12th straight home victory. When it was all said and done, the Cowboys improved to 6-3 in 2023 with a 49-17 dominating win over their divisional opponent, who dropped to 2-8.
For wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, he had a particularly productive afternoon by hauling in 11 catches for a total of 151 yards and a touchdown. He also added a 14-yard rushing touchdown for good measure.
And afterward, he was understandably brimming with confidence, so much so that he declared that he was the top player in the National Football League at his respective position.
"I'm the top receiver in the game," Lamb declared. "There's no question about it. If there is, I'll see you again next week."
"They're definitely trying to double me, but [head coach Mike McCarthy] is doing a great job of moving me around and putting me in motion, lining me up on the outside," Lamb continued. "I guess you can't get a beat. It's Mike versus the DC at this point."
And needless to say, Lamb has been able to back up his big words with his performance on the field. Via NFL.com:
"Lamb's 617 receiving yards since Week 6 are the most by a Cowboys player in a four-game run since at least 1970 (second-most: Hall of Famer Terrell Owens: 575 yards from Weeks 7-11, 2007).
The fourth-year pro joined Michael Irvin as the only Cowboys players with 900-plus receiving yards over the first nine games of a season (Lamb: 68 catches, 975 yards in 2023). Irvin did so in 1995, finishing with 111 catches, 1,603 yards and 10 TD catches."
How are you liking Lamb's performance this season so far for the Cowboys?
