The Dallas Cowboys suffered their first defeat of the 2023 season, dropping their game yesterday against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.

For quarterback Dak Prescott, who finished the day 25 of 40 for 249 yards, a touchdown and a critical interception, he seemed to imply that the media was rooting for a Cowboys loss after their perfect 2-0 start.

"Y'all put us on top of the world," said Prescott. "We knew who we are. In that same sense, I'm sure the media got what it wanted. For us, there hadn't been but one undefeated team. It sucks, it's humbling, but to say it's a wake-up call, we knew we had a lot of adversity and we just didn't get it done. It just goes back to myself, the offense, in the red zone. We get better there, we win this game. But we've got to fix that area, period."

Prescott, who was picked off in the end zone on the final play, said that the loss was a humbling experience regardless of what the media thinks.

“We thought we had a great opportunity to come in here even with the adversity and get a win, and we didn't," Prescott said. "Obviously, every week you've got to reset, you've got to refocus, and honestly, it's a little bit easier after a loss."
