The Dallas Cowboys have officially clinched a postseason berth for the second year in a row, making that the first time since 2006 and 2007 that they've done so. However, they didn't do it in winning fashion on Sunday, dropping a disappointing game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Florida.
Quarterback Dak Prescott, who threw a pick-six in overtime to seal the Cowboys' fate, issued a brutally honest message to the rest of his team as the postseason approaches.
“This is about momentum right now heading into the postseason,” Prescott said. “Sure, we lost, but there was a lot of good in this game too, so it’s about just continuing to push forward and understanding the men that we have in this locker room and understanding what we’ve done up to this point and the foundation that we’ve laid and just continue to try and grow and get out of these errors. “Whether it’s my interceptions or whatever it may be, eliminate the bad, build on the good and create momentum heading into the postseason.”
Prescott has enjoyed a productive season with the Cowboys, throwing for 2,103 yards and 17 touchdowns thus far in 2022 in the games that he's been healthy enough to start. And his team will certainly need him at his best if they are to get the bad taste of last year's playoff disappointment at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers out of their mouths.
