The season for the Green Bay Packers and two-time reigning National Football League Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers is officially over, having lost for the second time this season to their NFC North division rival Detroit Lions yesterday night at Lambeau Field.

Though the Lions were knocked out of postseason contention thanks to the Seattle Seahawks victory over the Los Angeles Rams, Detroit still had plenty to play for as they were motivated to play spoiler against the team that has tormented them for decades.

But could this have been Rodgers' swan song with the Packers? Shortly after the game was over, Detroit's Jameson Williams asked for his jersey.

“I’m going to hold on to this one,” Rodgers replied.

Rodgers then walked down the tunnel towards the locker room with his arm around teammate and good friend Randall Cobb, as if for the last time.

So, what did he have to say about his future in his postgame press remarks?

“It’s a feeling,” Rodgers said of his future plans. “Do I feel like I have anything left to prove to myself? Do I want to go back and gear up for another grind? Or is it time? Is it time to step away? Is it time for another voice to be leading this team?”

Rodgers, who agreed to a three-year, $150.8 million extension this past March to remain with the Packers, sounds as though he's going to be taking time to ponder whether or not he wants to come back.
