Ex-Steelers DL Chris Hoke blasts Kenny Pickett

He believes he knows what the problem is.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled on the offensive side of the ball this season, with neither Mitchell Trubisky or Kenny Pickett able to generate anything meaningful in putting points on the board. The offense attack has been maligned, especially with offensive coordinator Matt Canada, who has found himself in the crosshairs of the frustrated fan base.

However, if the words of one former Steelers player are to be believed, it's not Canada's fault for the stagnating offense, but rather Pickett's. Former Steelers DL Chris Hoke took Pickett to task, saying that Pickett is failing to execute.

“When guys aren’t executing, when things aren’t getting done,” Hoke explained Thursday on the Cook and Joe Show on 93.7 The Fan. “How can you put that on Canada? Go back and watch that film and everybody can say what they want but guys are open and he’s (Pickett) not seeing them. Kenny misses throws, on third and ten he has Pat Freiermuth open for first down he sails the ball. Air Mails it. Is that on Matt Canada? Another time on third down he throws to Diontae Johnson, but Pat moved down the seam wide open for a touchdown, he didn’t even look at him."

Strong words, indeed! Pickett has thrown just two touchdowns along with a staggering eight interceptions in the appearances he's made this season. Does this lack of production fall on his shoulders, or should Canada get more of the blame for the offensive schemes that he's put forward?
