The extended family of the Dallas Cowboys has suffered a loss with the passing of former offensive lineman Uche Nwaneri on Friday at the age of 38.
The Dallas-area native was found dead in West Lafayette, Indiana home, and according to Sports Illustrated, the coroner's office is suggesting a heart attack was the cause of his passing.
"Uche was a great person,'' his former agent Jordan Woy told CowboysSI.com. "He was a very interesting person and had deep, valued and informative thoughts on sports, politics and life.''
After playing collegiate football at Purdue, Nwaneri was a fifth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2007 NFL Draft. He would start 92 games for Jacksonville between 2007 and 2013 before eventually signing with his hometown Cowboys. However, he was included in their final round of roster cuts before the 2014 NFL season.
