After a lengthy period of uncertainty that included some verbal jabs, the Dallas Cowboys are set to finally induct former Super Bowl-winning head coach Jimmy Johnson into their famed Ring of Honor. The ceremony will take place prior to tonight's game against the visiting Detroit Lions at AT&T Stadium.

And for Johnson, he spoke at length about his relationship with Cowboys team owner and general manger Jerry Jones, who had been facing noticeable speculation about whether or not Johnson would ever make it in.

In fact, Johnson admitted that the pair are both "egotistical".

"People don't really understand our relationship,'' Jimmy recently told FOX4's Mike Doocy, "for the simple reason that I don’t understand it, either. When I’m with him, it’s like we’re a couple of brothers. We are both egotistical, and we’re very proud of what we accomplished. And so sometimes things come up and you go, ‘Well, that’s not how exactly it happened’.”

It wasn't the easiest of splits between head coach Jimmy Johnson and the Dallas Cowboys after it was reported that he wanted more control over personnel decisions - something that team owner and general manager Jerry Jones wasn't willing to relinquish. Johnson was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.
