By now, you've heard the news that former Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin was been removed from Super Bowl coverage by NFL Network after a woman accused him of harassment at a hotel. Not only was he woken up by security and removed from the hotel, but was banned from the premises for life. Irvin has since filed a $100 million lawsuit against the woman and hotel, saying that he did nothing wrong.
Witnesses who were interviewed seemed to corroborate Irvin's amount that he did nothing inappropriate, and the hotel has been ordered to turn over all surveillance video of the incident.
However, Marriott has responded by saying the order is “overly broad and unduly burdensome".
“Defendant further objects to this Request to the extent it seeks information protected from discovery under the attorney-client privilege or the work product doctrine,” Marriott added. “Respondent will not produce such information.”
Irvin's attorney wrote earlier in the week that his client still has no clue what he did wrong.
“To this day, … Irvin still does not know the who, what, when, or where of the allegations levied against him,” Irvin’s attorney Levi McCathern wrote Wednesday.
District Judge Amos Mazzant III also stated earlier in the week that if Marriott doesn't turn over the video by early next week, he would “take up the merits of the motion” himself.
