Kenny Picket could decide Matt Canada's fate
Will it fall on Pickett to decide?

It goes without saying that this was not the finest season for Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada. The rumors and whispers about him potentially being let go as his team struggled offensively all year didn't dissipate, and the fact that the Steelers have now officially finished on the outside looking in at the postseason certainly won't do anything to quell those thoughts.
It was an unusual season for Pittsburgh, as they started the year with Mitchell Trubisky at quarterback after the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger. However, that wouldn't last long, as they would eventually go to 1st round draft selection Kenny Pickett.
And while Steelers players have voiced their support for Canada despite fans and pundits saying otherwise, it appears as though Pickett himself could have a major say in whether or not the maligned offensive coordinator returns next year under Mike Tomlin.
According to Jeff Hathhorn of 93.7 The Fan, the Steelers will be consulting with Pickett on his thoughts of Canada:
“I felt like the offense started to become my own the more I was playing in it, taking real ownership of it instead of just kind of playing catch-up when I got thrown in there a little bit earlier and I was just worried about executing the plays,” Pickett said after Pittsburgh's season ending win over Cleveland on Sunday. “Now I felt like I had everything at my disposal when I was coming to the line of scrimmage. I felt like I made a good jump there in the learning curve, and I want to make that leap into Year 2 now.”
