Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay announces future plans!
Is he making the right call here?
Sean McVay is certainly riding high right now as the head coach of the Super Bowl-champion Los Angeles Rams, having made history by becoming the youngest head coach to lead his team to the ultimate NFL high.
However, there was some speculation as to his status for next season, as McVay was rumored to potentially be mulling offers for television commentating deals. But apparently, that speculation has been put to rest.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, McVay will be returning to the Rams next season with the goal in mind of repeating as champions:
In his five seasons as Rams head coach so far, he's amassed a record of 55-26 along with four playoff appearances and two trips to the Super Bowl.
Prior to their win over the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this month, McVay joked that there was "no way" he'd be coaching until the age of 60, and talked about some other areas of life that are important to him.
"I love this so much that it's such a passion but I also know that what I've seen from some of my closest friends, whether it's coaches or even some of our players, I'm gonna be married this summer, I want to have a family and I think being able to find that balance but also be able to give the time necessary," McVay said. "I have always had a dream about being able to be a father and I can't predict the future, you know? I jokingly say that.
"I don't really know. I know I love football and I'm so invested in this thing and I'm in the moment right now. But at some point, too, if you said what do you want to be able to do? I want to be able to have a family and I want to be able to spend time with them."
Can McVay and the Rams make good on their desire to "run it back" as they stated during last weeks' championship parade?
