The Dallas Cowboys were already familiar with the neck issues for linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, and unfortunately, it was more of the same during yesterday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He was forced from the game with a neck injury, and did not return. And afterward, it was head coach Mike McCarthy who expressed concern for Vander Esch based on his history.

“I’m concerned, obviously,” McCarthy said, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “I think everybody is concerned based on his history. Miss him? Look at the way he played last week. He was a huge factor.”

However, the news was revealed today after an MRI that it wasn't a neck injury that he suffered, but instead a nerve issue in his shoulder.

In 13 starts this season prior to yesterday, Vander Esch amassed 90 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.
