Not many Pittsburgh Steelers fans could have predicted the complete quarterback overhaul this offseason, but that's precisely what occurred in only a matter of a few days.

Steelers general manager Omar Khan has raised eyebrows everywhere when he not only signed Russell Wilson shortly after his release from the Denver Broncos but also proceeded to trade former starter and heir apparent to Ben Rothlisberger Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, reportedly due to his dissatisfaction over Wilson's acquisition along with reported refusal to dress late last season as a backup.

Now, former Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has arrived in town, as Khan traded a conditional draft pick back to the Bears in return. The Steelers are now set to roll with the tandem of Wilson and Fields, a complete reversal of the start of last season that saw the Steelers employ the trio of Pickett, Mitchell Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, the latter two of which have already found new NFL homes.

And now, according to head coach Mike Tomlin, he's confirmed that it will in fact be Wilson as the starting quarterback for the Steelers in 2024.

Noted NFL insider Ian Rapoport released the following information about the quarterback situation in the Steel City shortly after the Fields acquisition, saying that Tomlin has informed Wilson that he's their main man under center, but that Fields will also be competing regardless of the depth chart.

He wrote the following on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account about the situation:

"Speaking of Justin Fields and the #Steelers trade, coach Mike Tomlin reached out to Russell Wilson last night when the trade was going down to let him know he was the starter. @TomPelissero said it last night, and Tomlin views that as the plan. Fields will compete, regardless."

Steelers fans, how are you feeling about the completely revamped quarterback situation for Pittsburgh heading into this new season which will get underway later in the year?
