NOT SO FAST: Aaron Rodgers pushes back on contract report

Rodgers sounds off on the reports indicating that he has been inked to a massive extension.

Reports earlier today broke the news that the relationship between the Green Bay Packers and reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers would be continuing to the tune of a massive four year, $200 million contract extension

However, according to the man himself, those reports are false. But that doesn't mean that he won't be suiting up in Green Bay in 2022.

Rodgers took to social media earlier today to "clear some things up", stating that he's not signed an extension, but that he fully plans on playing for the Packers next season.

“Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up,” Rodgers wrote. “YES I will be playing with the @packers next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I “signed.” I’m very excited to be back #year18”

Late last month, Rodgers stated during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that he'd yet to arrive at a decision.

“Let me just put this disclaimer out right away for the few people watching and are tuning in for a specific, maybe news or decision, there will be no news today. No decision on my future,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show on Feb. 22. “As I was texting with you yesterday, I just got out of a 12-day panchakarma. Look that up. I know you did after we talked but it’s a cleanse that originated in India, has been going on for thousands of years, and it’s something I’ve done in the offseason. So, I’m just getting my head above the sand now and seeing what’s going on out there. But no decision about my future today.”

This offseason has already brought a major change to the personal life of Rodgers, as he and his fiancee Shailene Woodley called off their engagement.
