The Green Bay Packers were dealt another blow this afternoon, losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers by a 23-19 final score at Acrisure Stadium. With the loss, the Packers now drop to 3-6 through nine games, while the Steelers improved to 6-3 overall.

And to say that Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was unhappy with the performance of Aaron Jones would be an understatement. It was late in the 4th quarter when Green Bay was pressing for the tying or game-winning score that Jones made a crucial error by staying in bounds after picking up yards, rather than running out of bounds to stop the clock.

The play wasted a total of 28 seconds for the Packers, who already were without any timeouts remaining. And LaFleur took Jones to task in his postgame remarks.

"I thought there was an opportunity to get out of bounds right there, and we didn't," a clearly frustrated LaFleur said. "That was critical because that wasted a ton of time. We would've had a couple of opportunities at the end of the game. That was like 20 seconds or so. It felt like forever."

"Our guys got up on the ball in a timely fashion, with some urgency, but I really think the play that really hurt us obviously was wasting so much time when we checked it down to Aaron Jones," he continued.

The costly error is certainly going to be weighing on Jones' mind as he and the rest of his teammates attempt to pick up the pieces as they move forward. They return home to face the Los Angeles Chargers next week at Lambeau Field, and will be trying to improve to 4-6.
