Report: Cowboys to make shocking draft choice

Does this spell trouble for a certain QB?

In what was seen as a legacy game last month, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott came up extremely short against the San Francisco 49ers once again.

His two costly turnovers would set the one in what would ultimately be a 19-12 final score in the NFC Divisional game, sending the Cowboys home for another early offseason. They're still looking for their first trip to the Super Bowl since 1995, and they'll once again have to wait until next season.  They're also now 0-7 in the Divisional Round since 1995.

Just how patient does the team intend on remaining with their highly compensated quarterback? Fans are understandably starting to get impatient.

According to team owner and general manager Jerry Jones, the team intends on drafting a quarterback later this year, with the added caveat of saying they should have done that every year.

Meanwhile, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News also indicated on his social media account that it will in fact be a quarterback that the Cowboys take in the 2023 NFL Draft, but that the team intends on remaining patient with Prescott, and are even open to another extension.

“Stephen Jones said the Cowboys are committed to Dak Prescott long term and are open to extending his contract,” Watkins shared on Twitter.

However, does this put any additional added pressure on Prescott to come through and finally lead the Cowboys on a deep postseason run?
