Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady officially announced his second retirement from the National Football League earlier this week, and he was sure to include in his announcement that he filmed on an unnamed beach that this retirement would be permanent.
And he's already stated that he won't be making his already highly publicized future move into the broadcast booth until 2024, which led to speculation that he once again could be considering a potential return to football. And if this report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is to believed, he could be taking his talents west - specifically, to the Bay Arena.
“…we’ve learned that Brady: (1) doesn’t always say publicly what he truly believes; and (2) sometimes says things he means, and eventually does something different,” Florio wrote on Thursday.
“The 49ers ultimately could have a major influence over the final outcome,” he continued. “Trey Lance missed nearly all of 2022 with a broken ankle. Brock Purdy‘s elbow apparently is more messed up than believed, given that he can’t even have surgery on it yet, due to the lingering swelling. There are real questions about the quarterback position for a team that is otherwise among the NFL’s elite.”
Just how absolutely crazy would it be to see Brady once again pivot on retirement from pro football and give it one more go?
