Steelers sign former Houston CB Desmond King
He's on his way to Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan is at it again, having snagged former Houston Texans cornerback Desmond King and added him to the team's 53 man roster ahead of next week's opening game.
King, 28, has appeared in 98 total NFL games (53 starts) and has racked up nine interceptions, two touchdowns, three forced fumbles, 33 pass deflections and 8.5 sacks. He was originally drafted in the 5th round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams and was eventually trade to the Tennessee Titans before signing in Houston in 2021.
And according to King himself, he couldn't be happier to finally be playing for Pittsburgh, something he says that he always wanted to do during his NFL career.
“DREAMS COME TRUE !!,” he wrote on social media “For some reason it feels like I should’ve bene here honestly!! Well here we go.”
Back in 2017, he said the following of where he would like to play after playing college ball at Iowa:
“I would say the Pittsburgh Steelers,” King said to Big Ten Network. “The only reason why I would say that is because they are a heavily-based zone team and their defensive scheme is kind of similar to ours here at Iowa. It’s a tough defense, it’s a defensive team and they have guys that are going to go out 110 percent each and every game and play all out.”
King has already chosen to wear jersey #25 with his new team.
