Tony Romo has words for Cowboys QB Cooper Rush

From a former Cowboys QB to a current one.

It's the Cooper Rush show for the Dallas Cowboys for the next several weeks, as starting quarterback Dak Prescott is on the shelf at least until November after suffering an injury and subsequently undergoing surgery to correct the issue.

Rush led the Cowboys to victory on Sunday at AT&T Stadium against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, leading two consecutive 75 yard touchdown drives after they went without one in their season opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rush finished the game 12-of-18 for 162 yards and a touchdown, helping the Cowboys improve to 1-1 in 2022.

During the game, former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had words of encouragement for Rush:

“I think the Cowboys have a great chance to pull an upset," Romo said while Dallas lead 7-0. "Cooper Rush, he’s a gunslinger.”

“He has improved his throwing mechanics," Romo added. "He’s got a great base in the pocket. He knows the game and he gets through (his progressions) quickly, and he lets it go. He’s not scared. He’s tough. He can take a hit."

With Prescott on the sidelines, it certainly looks as though Rush has a fan in Romo!
