It certainly was one of the most frightening moments in sports in recent memory, but it's thankfully had a good ending, and could soon even get better.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was in critical condition after the scary incident that took place in early January on Monday Night Football in which he collapsed after undergoing cardiac arrest; he required CPR and the use of an AED to resume his heart rhythm before he was rushed via ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

He's on the road to recovery, and according to Dr. Thom Mayer, medical director for the NFL Players Association during an interview with SiriusXM's "Heart to Heart", Hamlin could even play professionally again.

I don’t want to get into HIPAA issues, but I guarantee you, I guarantee you ... that Damar Hamlin will play professional football again,” Mayer told the show.

This absolutely would be nothing short of amazing if it were to come to pass.
