The New York Jets opened their exhibition schedule last night against the Philadelphia Eagles, during which quarterback Zach Wilson was forced out of the game after suffering an injury during a run. Certainly not the news that fans of the Jets were hoping for, especially considering that they're only in exhibition play.

Earlier this morning, head coach Robert Saleh confirmed Wilson will be undergoing an MRI to confirm the status of the injury. Not long afterwards, ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reported Wilson suffered a bone bruise as well as a meniscus tear; his expected recovery time is between 2-4 weeks.

An arthroscopic surgery is planned to address the surgery and confirmed how long Wilson will be out. The Jets feel fortunate that the injury wasn't worse.

The 23-year-old Wilson could return in Week 3 when the Jets host the Cincinnati Bengals. Will the Jets have QB problems again this year after going through all those years with Sam Darnold? They and their fans certainly hope not, and are hoping for a more successful year.
